· Excellent Temperature Resistance: Features a rigid benzene ring structure and stable C-S bonds, providing good thermal stability. Its temperature resistance typically reaches 180-200°C (356-392°F).
· Outstanding Salt & Calcium Tolerance: The sulfomethyl groups (-CH₂SO₃⁻) on the polymer chain are strong hydrophilic groups, effectively resisting flocculation by polyvalent metal ions (e.g., Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺). It maintains performance even in high-concentration salt and calcium-contaminated systems.
· Fluid Loss Control Mechanism: Reduces fluid loss primarily by increasing filtrate viscosity, forming a polymer film within the filter cake, and protecting clay particles from flocculation. It also improves filter cake quality.
· Synergy with Other Additives: When combined with Sulfonated Lignite (SMC) or sulfonated asphalt, it creates a denser and tougher filter cake, producing a synergistic effect where the combined performance exceeds the sum of individual components.

Brine & Saturated Saltwater Muds: One of the most effective fluid loss reducers for these high-salinity drilling fluid systems, preventing salt crystallization and wellbore instability.
High-Calcium Formation Drilling: Used when drilling through gypsum or anhydrite formations to resist calcium ion contamination.
High-Density Drilling Fluids: Effectively stabilizes performance in high-density drilling fluids, preventing fluid loss control failure due to high temperature and high solids content.
"Three-Sulfonated" Drilling Fluid System: Forms a classic "Three-Sulfonated" additive system together with SMC and sulfonated asphalt, providing comprehensive high-temperature, salt-resistant, and anti-sloughing protection.
