· Plugging Action: Its asphaltene particles and colloidal particles can deform, spread, and adsorb onto the surfaces of micro-fractures and pores in the formation, forming a compact, low-permeability sealing layer that strengthens the wellbore.
· Lubricity: Can form a lubricating film on the drill string and wellbore surface, reducing friction.
